West Coast Baby Shower!

I had plans to go out to a late lunch with my #legend gals Sarah and Nicole yesterday. The plan was for Sarah to pick me up on her way from Santa Monica down to The Source, a restaurant in Hermosa Beach. I have been mega tired lately, so I threw on some jeans and whatever shirt fit (there are very few these days). I hopped in her car and we made our way towards Nicole's place. When we arrived, Nicole asked that we run in real quick so she could grab her stuff -- and unbeknownst to me, there was a crowd full of friends in her living room!!!! SURPRISE!

Jimmy didn't quite make the surprise, as he couldn't leave our place until after I had left. But it's ok, I was glad he was able to come and take a break from studying.

 
Here's a little collage of the day -- another entrance shot, me getting a kick out of Jimbo opening some little baby boy clothes and the most creative/adorable "PHELAN TWINS" blocks I have ever seen in my life. Nicole made them. She is seriously the 'hostess with the mostest' -- she can really throw a party.

 
I don't have many pics of the gift-opening portion of the day, but here are a few we opened. Rock gave the boys some Penn St gear, and we also got some wicked cute rash guards and bathing suits for A and B to wear in Cape Cod!



 
This was taken later on in the evening. I had such a fun day and couldn't have been more touched by the efforts of all our west coast friends. Really, really gonna miss these folks. Thank you everyone for going to the party and showering A and B with so much love!!

  Here is Cal’s journal :) Saturday Feb 18 We packed our big van and drove to NEW YORK CITY.  It was a long drive. We got to play the switch for a little bit, and we also rested. We got Subway turkey sandwiches on the way to New York. We stopped at a rest stop to go pee. It was crowded. Then continued driving to New York. We got to the hotel in new york and our room was not ready. We walked to central park and climbed rocks and took pictures of birds. We saw some big horses that had carriages on them for people to have a ride around the park. We went to the central park zoo but it was closed. We then found mom and dads friend Lauren and we got pizza together. Dad helped her get a taxi home. We went to bed in the hotel and saw lots of lights and buildings. Sunday Feb 19 We went back to Central Park to feed the birds and eat bagels. This is What Miscarriage Looks Like…

Me and Jim have some hard news to share. We originally did not think we were going to post something so personal - but while going through this experience, I feel it’s important to share our story and hopefully help other people going through this same emotional roller coaster. It’s sad, it’s frustrating, it’s scary, and quite frankly it is ROUGH.   Here is our story - We surprisingly found out we were expecting over the Fourth of July, our favorite holiday and our favorite week with our favorite people. Naturally, it felt exciting because it was an awesome time. Nonetheless, we were shocked and terrified because our youngest is five. Quite the age gap when you have three kids in 26 months. Fast forward: On Friday, September 24, 2021, when I was 16 weeks pregnant, we found out we were having our fourth boy. We were excited and not at all surprised haha. Cadens Feb Vacation journal

 Here is Mr Caden Francis! Saturday Feb 18 We rented a new car and packed it up on Saturday morning.  We then drove to New York.  It took almost 4 hours! We did a little bit of television, then we rested with our blankets and pillows and then we ate Subway sandwiches.  When we got to NY, we went to Central Park! There were so many birds there. We took a lot of pictures of birds at the New york park (the birds were fat). It was SO FUNNY! We then saw Dad’s friend Lauren and got pizza with her. We watched some youtube videos while we were at dinner. The pizza was so yummy.(My Favorite Bird in the world.) Sunday Feb 19  On Sunday morning we woke up in NY city. We found a place that sold bagels!!! We each ordered a bag and walked back to Central Park. We were sad when we found out the bird sanctuary was closed until 11 o'clock. We were sad but we still saw some more birds and tried to give them our crumbs. We then got in our car and started to drive to Washington DC It took about 4 h
