YouTube STARS!

Haha the title is a little bit of an exaggeration, but I wanted to post some videos of Conor and Caden now that they are playing together and dancing and laughing and having fun! my blog website doesn't work well for videos, so I started uploading a few on YouTube so you can watch Conor and Caden interact.

Here's the YouTube site:

And here are a few pics of how we are spending our days lately...Caden loves crawling and standing using everything in sight (sometimes even using Conor for assistance). Conor is crawling all over too - but not standing yet. They are both so interactive and adventurous...they're into everything!

We even love using the rocking chair...haha. I took this pic one night while we were waiting for Jim to get home from work. They were a little fussy and nothing was helping - so I placed them in this chair one at a time and then together. It worked!

Conor and Caden spending some time with Daddy on this Saturday afternoon, and earlier in the week. WHALE DONE! ;)

They were so happy the other night after I got home from work. I thought this pic was so cute...big smiles and as Auntie Chrissy says, "big cheekbones!"

I loved these pics - first, Caden put his hand on Conor's hand...and then not even 10 seconds later, Conor put his hand on Caden's. It was so sweet. Conor is close to standing on his own too!

Mama love!!! Everything two times! :):)  We are looking forward to watching the Superbowl tomorrow. Conor and Caden may get to watch their first Superbowl (for the first five minutes)...then it's bedtime!

A day in the life of a TWIN!

A few friends suggested I blog about our day to day. In other words, this post is about "a day in the life of Conor and Caden".  Of course our schedule changes every few months or so - for example, I wrote a bit about their schedule when the boys were four months (and suffering a bit from what I thought was a sleep regression). But here is Conor and Caden's current schedule at almost 9 months old:

6AM: Both wake and have 8oz bottle, then play upstairs in nursery with Mommy

8AM: Oatmeal w/ pureed bananas, then play downstairs in living room

10AM: 4-6oz bottles and both nap. I tend to separate them for naps during the day. Caden usually sleeps downstairs in a pack n play and Conor in nursery. Caden is standing and climbing in the crib, so keeping him in the pack n play sort of eliminates that distraction. ;)

--- At this point, while the boys nap, I typically start writing a blog post. Conor is on the left and Caden (asleep) on the right ---

12PM: Lunch! (fruit, cheese, cottage cheese, yogurt, etc). And then we play and go outside for a walk or sometimes even a drive to get some fresh air

3PM: 6-8oz bottle, and nap again...then playtime til dinner

5PM: Dinner (puffs, veggie and brown rice). Caden left and Conor LOVING the puffs on the right

6:15PM: Bath and bedtime routine. I just bought a couple of these Halo sleep sacks per the suggestion of my cousin Jen. They slept a little later this morning while wearing these because they are so cozy. These are definitely a must-have in the winter!

6:45-7PM.: Sleeping :) :)

The boys are doing great. They are teething and growing and sometimes it is difficult to get them on the exact same page. Often Caden plays really, really hard (crawling, climbing, moving) and Conor is a little more relaxed. Therefore, Caden tends to be more tired earlier in the day and Conor can push his nap a little later. But other days, it flip flops! Like today, Conor was really tired at 9AM and Caden fell asleep more around 10AM. For the most part, I try to keep them on the same schedule.

"I think I'll take a moment, celebrate my age...."

"I think I'll take a moment, celebrate my age

If you had asked me ten years ago where I would be at 30, I never would have guessed I would have two amazing little boys and living back in Washington D.C. I would, however, have said that I would be happily married to Jimbo, celebrating this bday with Chrissy and [hopefully] working for the Bureau. I guess I am more blessed than I ever knew. :)

Chrissy and Lindsey came down over the weekend to celebrate my big 3-0 and much to my surprise, a limo rolled up to our house Saturday morning around 10:30. We had reservations for a bottomless mimosa brunch in D.C and a few other hot spots in the District. Here are a couple of favs from the weekend.

Thanks to Jim, Chrissy and Linds for setting up the limo and the stops we made throughout the day...although the impromptu stops at the Lincoln Memorial and Washington Monument were probably my fav! ;) And thanks to Brooke, Den, Pat and Jamal for joining us. It was such a fun and memorable day. I loved it!!!

I opened up my birthday present from Chrissy and Linds and it was TWO kettlebells! For those who don't know, Linds is a certified kettlebell instructor. Last fall, she worked her bum off and killed it at her Strongfirst Certification. Not only did they buy me two kettlebells (different weights for exercises) but they put together a workout program for me on YouTube. So cool. Here's Linds and I trying it out yesterday!

Conor and Caden nailed their workout, t. They are next up for the Stongfirst Certification!

Thank you to EVERYONE for the birthday wishes and taking time out of their long holiday weekend to hang with us. I am so grateful and love you all. AND GO PATRIOTS!!!!!!! WOOOOOO!

Movers & Shakers!

I have two crawling baby boys, ladies and gentlemen. When did that happen?

Caden started crawling a little bit before Christmas and has really mastered it. Now he is pulling himself up to a standing position on almost anything....his jumper/exersaucer, the couch, a case of bottle water, an ottoman. You name it, he uses it to stand.

Conor is so cute when he is crawling. He is timid and ADORABLE. Caden is all fast fast fast...and kind of sloppy and plummets himself to the floor. And Conor is so sweet and cautious. He will probably start following Caden around (well, they will follow each other) but for now, they are both on the move and Mommy is on the lookout.

We were both wearing our Christmas onesies (a few weeks too late), so we needed a photo op. Happy boys!

The flash was clearly a little intense at 7AM....

Aunties Chrissy and Lindsey are on their way to visit these two happy little baby boys this weekend for the long weekend. We are all excited for their visit! Hurry up American Airlines and your stupid 2 hour delay. Get them here already!!

P.S. Flashback pic is in honor of Uncle Lindsey visiting Conor and Caden this weekend. Here were in Temecula, CA, back in 2011 or early of my first trips with Linds! I may have a celebratory glass or two this weekend, maybe. ;)
