Berry Picking and Berry Baking! :)

I follow the Woburn Patch on facebook and noticed an article recently about picking your own strawberries. I used to pick my own strawberries when I was younger across the street from our house at Spence Farm. Sadly, the farm no longer exists and now there are nice houses there. But nonetheless, I LOVED picking my own strawberries and they were the most delicious things ever, like candy. Therefore, I was very happy to stumble across this article about picking your own strawberries at places near Woburn!


To recap the article a bit, here is their short list of places close by. Drumlin Farms made the list! Our new favorite place!! Check out some of the farms closest to Woburn listed here:

Although not on the list, I went to Wilson Farm in Lexington yesterday with my friend Katie and bought lots of fun things like strawberries, watermelon, cucumbers, flowers, and other produce. I made a fruit salad and caprese salad at home and also made an awesome strawberry shortcake dessert that took no more than 15 minutes tops. It was the freshest, most amazing dessert. I used the heart healthy pancake mix, two tablespoons sugar, and milk for the biscuits. And then just strawberries and vanilla ice cream. So easy, so refreshing.

Speaking of Wilson Farm, I went to their "event page" and they are having a Strawberry Festival June 18 and 19 which sounds right up my alley.

The boys were REAL tired last night after their visit with Auntie Theresa and Auntie Jan. Thank you ladies for coming over! It was fun to hang with fellow Phelans. :) Look how cute they are...both had a blanket on their chests when I checked on them. Love them so much.

  Here is Cal’s journal :) Saturday Feb 18 We packed our big van and drove to NEW YORK CITY.  It was a long drive. We got to play the switch for a little bit, and we also rested. We got Subway turkey sandwiches on the way to New York. We stopped at a rest stop to go pee. It was crowded. Then continued driving to New York. We got to the hotel in new york and our room was not ready. We walked to central park and climbed rocks and took pictures of birds. We saw some big horses that had carriages on them for people to have a ride around the park. We went to the central park zoo but it was closed. We then found mom and dads friend Lauren and we got pizza together. Dad helped her get a taxi home. We went to bed in the hotel and saw lots of lights and buildings. This is What Miscarriage Looks Like…

Me and Jim have some hard news to share. We originally did not think we were going to post something so personal - but while going through this experience, I feel it’s important to share our story and hopefully help other people going through this same emotional roller coaster. It’s sad, it’s frustrating, it’s scary, and quite frankly it is ROUGH.   Here is our story - We surprisingly found out we were expecting over the Fourth of July, our favorite holiday and our favorite week with our favorite people. Naturally, it felt exciting because it was an awesome time. Nonetheless, we were shocked and terrified because our youngest is five. Quite the age gap when you have three kids in 26 months. Fast forward: On Friday, September 24, 2021, when I was 16 weeks pregnant, we found out we were having our fourth boy. We were excited and not at all surprised haha. Cadens Feb Vacation journal

 Here is Mr Caden Francis! Saturday Feb 18 We rented a new car and packed it up on Saturday morning.  We then drove to New York.  It took almost 4 hours! We did a little bit of television, then we rested with our blankets and pillows and then we ate Subway sandwiches.  When we got to NY, we went to Central Park! There were so many birds there. We took a lot of pictures of birds at the New york park (the birds were fat). It was SO FUNNY! We then saw Dad’s friend Lauren and got pizza with her. We watched some youtube videos while we were at dinner. The pizza was so yummy.(My Favorite Bird in the world.) Sunday Feb 19  On Sunday morning we woke up in NY city. We found a place that sold bagels!!! We each ordered a bag and walked back to Central Park. We were sad when we found out the bird sanctuary was closed until 11 o'clock.
