6 Weeks Postpartum!! Workout Time!

I am 6 weeks postpartum and I feel great. I still have a bit of discomfort and healing to do, but I am overall feeling really good. I see my doctor on Tuesday for the first time since having Cal, so I am hoping to get the official "go ahead" to workout. I have been walking as much as I can and I just did a [very] light kettlebell workout yesterday. The first time in almost a YEAR.

Then immediately had to stop and feed Cal lol.

For those interested, Lindsey put together a beginner kettlebell workout tutorial video on youtube. She had just completed her strongfirst kettlebell certification and she made me a very thoughtful workout lesson for my 30th birthday -- when the twins were about 8 months old. It was a great time for me to kick my butt in gear! I had to revisit this yesterday, because I forgot the correct positioning for deadlifts and presses. I didn't do any swings yet, I am waiting on my doctor's approval.

Jim and I got a ton done around the house yesterday. I packed the boys up for daycare on Monday. They had last week off, so I needed to wash their blankets, buy and pack diapers and wipes, and also do lots of laundry so they had clothes to pack for their week, too. I also collected their library books and dropped those off at the library. I picked up a Peapod grocery order (such a saving grace with two toddlers and a newborn).

We did some crafts in our basement...we painted on paper plates and played with some play dough. I love setting them up in the basement since it isn't finished yet. I have my old kitchen table down there, which is the table I had growing up. It is a great set up for the boys to get messy and have fun! :)

Surprisingly, we were also able to spend a LOT of time outside while Jim mowed the lawn and put up a runner line for Zeta when she comes over. The boys loved playing with their soccer balls (Conor's favorite is PINK!), my kettlebell, and some cherry tomatoes from our garden. Quite the day!

Cal loved playing outside with us, too. When he woke, I brought him outside and all the boys went diaper-less. It was time to get some fresh air everywhere! Plus, I filled up their water table and pool in case they wanted to "swim". Ha.

Look at Cal's rolls!!!

We also made a visit to BJs. We tend to buy our diapers there. With the discounted price and coupons, it is a great deal. I also made a couple of crockpot dishes for the week, a white turkey chili and and a meat sauce with sausages. Here we were en route to BJs...everyone has their aiden and anais blankets. The boys want theirs now that they see Cal with his blanket. Gotta be fair!

All for now...we are going to our cousin Jodie's house to celebrate Kelsie's birthday! Can't wait.

PS Flashback timely!! Look what I was doing one year ago. Kettlebells with Linds!

Our New Favorite Spot - Hidden Gem!

On Thursday, I was extremely adventurous and took the boys up to Beverly myself - to my old stompin grounds when I went to Endicott. Chrissy and I both went to Endicott and we lived in an apartment near Dane Street beach. We would sometimes go there with friends and also sometimes bring Peanut there.

Anyway, while my mom and I were in Salem on Wednesday, we looked out towards the water and saw a beach in Beverly across the way. After doing a bit of research, I realized it was Dane Street beach - where we used to go. I remember the tide going out REAL far, so I figured it would be safe for kids. And it turns out there's a new playground there for kids Conor and Caden's age up to maybe 6 or 7 or so.

But prior to leaving, here is how our morning at home looked...helpful big bros!

We left the house around 9:30AM and headed north. We drove about 25 min and arrived at the beach/playground. There is free street parking. The boys loved the playground.

Then we walked over to the water....which wasn't as difficult as I thought it would be! I left the stroller and all our shoes up by the playground area. Then walked with minimal items to the beach.

I wore Cal in the belephant carrier, so I was able to help them up the structures on the playground, push them on the swings, and hold their hands while we walked in the sand. And of course snap a few selfies.

My view of Cal in the wrap from above. It was so hot, so I just had a diaper on him. Ha.

When we got home, Daddy put together our new bikes!! They have a bell on them and everything. He made one with a righty bell and one with a lefty bell. I thought that was very thoughtful... :)

After making some homemade pizza last night for Conor and Caden's dinner and grilling turkey burgs last night with Shay and Kyle, we are now enjoying our Saturday.

We are doing nothing except getting some stuff done around the house, and enjoying some time with C, C, and C!

I hope you are all enjoying your weekend, too!! It's beautiful out. :)

C + C Adventures with Grammy!!

This post goes out to my mom...Grammy!!  We had such a fun day on Wednesday - our third day of our daily adventures. We were originally planning on visiting the Peabody Essex Museum in Salem. But turns out we had speech that morning (I forgot about our speech session since they are usually at daycare).

So we had speech from 9:30 to 10:30 and then my mom and I headed north. She helped me a lot getting ready, changing everyone's diapers, and packing up. As we were driving, we decided against the museum and to instead go to Salem Willows since the weather was beautiful. What a FUN day we had!! My mom said it was her favorite day yet. The boys were sooooo well behaved. They listened, they walked well with us, and it was adorable watching them play and run around. It was so much fun. Cal did great, too!

Here are a few photos from our day in Salem. What beautiful weather we had...

After we spent some time walking around and enjoying the view, we decided to go on some rides! They were a little nervous - this was their first time on a ride other than a merry-go-round, but they warmed up pretty well.

Then we got home, had a little rest, and went back outside to play...

Cal loves laying on his belly! He looks so comfy.

Caden is such a ham in front of the camera. He just loves seeing his own face on camera. He makes the funniest faces.

All for now. Thank you to Grammy for such a wonderful day!

PS Stay tuned to hear where we went yesterday! :)

Visit to the Children's Museum - BOSTON!

Daycare is closed this week - so I have been trying to do one activity/outing a day in order to keep busy [and stay sane]. :)

Today, I brought the boys to the Children's Museum in Boston. I registered for discounted tickets at the Woburn Public Library, so it was 50% off each ticket. The museum is super close to Jim's office so he came by and hung out for about 30 minutes. The museum was great because they had a 0-3 age group fenced in room that the boys could play in and be safe. I wore Cal all day so I basically didn't even need to worry about him. Here are some pics from our adventure today. What fun!!

All of us in the elevator about to start our day...

At the Children's Museum! This play area was fantastic for toddlers. I loved it.

We left the museum around 1:30 and had a little lunch/snack out front. I fed Cal and the boys had a few small things to eat. I really just wanted them to rest - which they did. Conor seemed a lot more tired than Caden, he was a tad fussy. But once we started moving again, we were good. I called Linds to see if she wanted to meet up and see the boys. We met at Flour and I got the boys a cookie, and myself a sandwich. I was starving and really needed to

They loved these lemon slices more than the cookie I got them!!! HA. People thought they were hilarious.

Linds snapped a few pics on our way to our parking garage...

Bahahaha car pics!

And yesterday, I visited a park/splash pad in Waltham with my high school friend Shayna and her sister. They each have children around the boys age, so it made for an eventful and fun afternoon. Here are a few pics from the day!

They weren't exactly loving the water at the splash pad, lol. They liked the playground more.

After the park....I snuck Cal in while Con was sleeping.

And Cay....haha.

Cal enjoying his crib!

And lastly, here are a couple outfits that Jim got the boys from China! HA. I just love them. And they are actually super comfortable. I can tell the boys love wearing them.
