6 Weeks Postpartum!! Workout Time!

Image
I am 6 weeks postpartum and I feel great. I still have a bit of discomfort and healing to do, but I am overall feeling really good. I see my doctor on Tuesday for the first time since having Cal, so I am hoping to get the official "go ahead" to workout. I have been walking as much as I can and I just did a [very] light kettlebell workout yesterday. The first time in almost a YEAR. Then immediately had to stop and feed Cal lol. For those interested, Lindsey put together a beginner kettlebell workout tutorial video on youtube. She had just completed her strongfirst kettlebell certification and she made me a very thoughtful workout lesson for my 30th birthday -- when the twins were about 8 months old. It was a great time for me to kick my butt in gear! I had to revisit this yesterday, because I forgot the correct positioning for deadlifts and presses. I didn't do any swings yet, I am waiting on my doctor's approval. Jim and I got a ton done around the h

Our New Favorite Spot - Hidden Gem!

On Thursday, I was extremely adventurous and took the boys up to Beverly myself - to my old stompin grounds when I went to Endicott. Chrissy and I both went to Endicott and we lived in an apartment near Dane Street beach. We would sometimes go there with friends and also sometimes bring Peanut there. Anyway, while my mom and I were in Salem on Wednesday, we looked out towards the water and saw a beach in Beverly across the way. After doing a bit of research, I realized it was Dane Street beach - where we used to go. I remember the tide going out REAL far, so I figured it would be safe for kids. And it turns out there's a new playground there for kids Conor and Caden's age up to maybe 6 or 7 or so. But prior to leaving, here is how our morning at home looked...helpful big bros! We left the house around 9:30AM and headed north. We drove about 25 min and arrived at the beach/playground. There is free street parking. The boys loved the playground. T

C + C Adventures with Grammy!!

This post goes out to my mom...Grammy!!  We had such a fun day on Wednesday - our third day of our daily adventures. We were originally planning on visiting the Peabody Essex Museum in Salem. But turns out we had speech that morning (I forgot about our speech session since they are usually at daycare). So we had speech from 9:30 to 10:30 and then my mom and I headed north. She helped me a lot getting ready, changing everyone's diapers, and packing up. As we were driving, we decided against the museum and to instead go to Salem Willows since the weather was beautiful. What a FUN day we had!! My mom said it was her favorite day yet. The boys were sooooo well behaved. They listened, they walked well with us, and it was adorable watching them play and run around. It was so much fun. Cal did great, too! Here are a few photos from our day in Salem. What beautiful weather we had... After we spent some time walking around and enjoying the view, we decided

Visit to the Children's Museum - BOSTON!

Image
Daycare is closed this week - so I have been trying to do one activity/outing a day in order to keep busy [and stay sane]. :) Today, I brought the boys to the Children's Museum in Boston. I registered for discounted tickets at the Woburn Public Library, so it was 50% off each ticket. The museum is super close to Jim's office so he came by and hung out for about 30 minutes. The museum was great because they had a 0-3 age group fenced in room that the boys could play in and be safe. I wore Cal all day so I basically didn't even need to worry about him. Here are some pics from our adventure today. What fun!! All of us in the elevator about to start our day... At the Children's Museum! This play area was fantastic for toddlers. I loved it. We left the museum around 1:30 and had a little lunch/snack out front. I fed Cal and the boys had a few small things to eat. I really just wanted them to rest - which they did. Conor seemed a lot more tired than Caden,
