Easter Egg Hunts!

The Easter Bunny came to our house!
We had a wonderful, busy weekend.  On Saturday, we went to Chelsea and Brian's house - a new set of friends who live a couple houses down from my parents. They have two young boys who are just about Conor, Caden and Cal's age. We had a lovely brunch spread and they had an Easter egg hunt around their house for all the kiddos.  They also had a pinata in their garage that the kids loved hitting. It was a riot.





On Sunday, we woke up to find the Easter Bunny had visited our house. There were eggs hidden everywhere and three Easter baskets with tons of arts and crafts, slime, candy, and stuffed animals. Lucky boys!!






Later in the day, we went to my Aunt Debbie's house in North Reading.  I made a few desserts. My Dad's Aunt Frances' famous marble squares, and a homemade white cake all decorated for Easter. We spent the entire day at my Aunts house, but Cal wasn’t feeling well. Jim stayed with him most of the day and he brought him home. He ended up having a quite a belly ache and stayed home from school today. Luckily my mom has Tuesdays off so he spent the day with Grammy!

For the marble square recipe, you need to read the recipe I wrote a few years ago. My Great Aunt Frances has been making them forever. They are amazing. Look how little the kids were when I last made them (in that link above)!  Also look how little Conor and Caden were in 2015 during their First Easter post. 




I made a white cake that was very simple - I just googled a simple recipe.

  Here is Cal’s journal :) Saturday Feb 18 We packed our big van and drove to NEW YORK CITY.  It was a long drive. We got to play the switch for a little bit, and we also rested. We got Subway turkey sandwiches on the way to New York. We stopped at a rest stop to go pee. It was crowded. Then continued driving to New York. We got to the hotel in new york and our room was not ready. We walked to central park and climbed rocks and took pictures of birds. We saw some big horses that had carriages on them for people to have a ride around the park. We went to the central park zoo but it was closed. We then found mom and dads friend Lauren and we got pizza together. Dad helped her get a taxi home. We went to bed in the hotel and saw lots of lights and buildings. Sunday Feb 19 We went back to Central Park to feed the birds and eat bagels. This is What Miscarriage Looks Like…

Me and Jim have some hard news to share. We originally did not think we were going to post something so personal - but while going through this experience, I feel it’s important to share our story and hopefully help other people going through this same emotional roller coaster. It’s sad, it’s frustrating, it’s scary, and quite frankly it is ROUGH.   Here is our story - We surprisingly found out we were expecting over the Fourth of July, our favorite holiday and our favorite week with our favorite people. Naturally, it felt exciting because it was an awesome time. Nonetheless, we were shocked and terrified because our youngest is five. Quite the age gap when you have three kids in 26 months. Fast forward: On Friday, September 24, 2021, when I was 16 weeks pregnant, we found out we were having our fourth boy. We were excited and not at all surprised haha. Cadens Feb Vacation journal

 Here is Mr Caden Francis! Saturday Feb 18 We rented a new car and packed it up on Saturday morning.  We then drove to New York.  It took almost 4 hours! We did a little bit of television, then we rested with our blankets and pillows and then we ate Subway sandwiches.  When we got to NY, we went to Central Park! There were so many birds there. We took a lot of pictures of birds at the New york park (the birds were fat). It was SO FUNNY! We then saw Dad’s friend Lauren and got pizza with her. We watched some youtube videos while we were at dinner. The pizza was so yummy.(My Favorite Bird in the world.) Sunday Feb 19  On Sunday morning we woke up in NY city. We found a place that sold bagels!!! We each ordered a bag and walked back to Central Park. We were sad when we found out the bird sanctuary was closed until 11 o'clock.
